Job Summary

As a SOC Analyst L1 at Alykas, you will be the first line of defense in protecting our clients from cybersecurity threats. Working within a multi-tenant Security Operations Center (SOC), you will monitor security events, investigate alerts, perform initial triage, and support incident response activities for multiple US-based clients. This role is ideal for security professionals looking to build hands-on experience with leading cybersecurity technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Monitor security alerts and events generated by our advanced security solutions.
  2. Perform initial triage and analysis of security alerts to determine legitimacy and severity.
  3. Investigate Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and document findings accurately.
  4. Escalate confirmed or suspicious security incidents according to established procedures.
  5. Create and maintain detailed case notes, investigation records, and incident reports.
  6. Assist in identifying malicious activity, suspicious behavior, and emerging threats.
  7. Support threat hunting and security monitoring initiatives as directed by senior analysts.
  8. Contribute to continuous improvement of SOC processes and detection capabilities.

Must-Haves

  1. 1-2 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC), IT Security, or related cybersecurity role.
  2. Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, networking, and operating systems.
  3. Familiarity with SOC technologies such as SIEM, EDR, XDR, or Email Security platforms.
  4. Understanding of common cyber threats, attack vectors, and incident response fundamentals.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Fluent English communication skills (both written and verbal), essential for working with Alykas's international clients.

Nice-to-Haves (Plusses)

  1. Relevant certifications such as Security+, ISC2 CC, SC-900, BTL1, or equivalent.
  2. Experience working with Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
  3. Exposure to Linux and Windows administration and basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
  4. Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, or threat intelligence concepts.
  5. Hands-on experience through cybersecurity labs, internships, CTFs, or personal projects.
